I'm Elina Tapio, a postdoctoral researcher at the Sign Language Centre (University of Jyväskylä). My previous study focused on where and how the (Finnish Sign Language) signers use English language. At the moment I'm continuing on that, and expanding to take into consideration other spoken and signed languages. I'm interested in space, in particular. The way a space, for example a lecture hall or an online environment enables and/or disables multilingual practices. 
I also teach some courses in the area of, for example, sociolinguistics, discourse studies and multimodal interaction analysis.
